Students are the heart and future of our community. School should be a safe and resourced space for our children to learn and thrive.

Born and raised in the Philippines as the eldest of five children, love, kindness, honesty and a strong belief in empowering people to help themselves are at the core of my value system. My commitment to education began at home in the Philippines and I brought that with me as I raised my daughter alone as a divorced single mother with not a single family member in the United States. I worked very hard to nurture and teach my daughter to get a strong college education, which she has done, graduating from a top academic college.  I also worked hard to better myself  through education by earning my MBA while working full time and raising my daughter. My core values and the skills and expertise I have gained as a single parent allowed me to navigate through life, raise a wonderful person, and become a successful commercial banking professional.

In my first 19 months as a member of the Marin County Board of Education (MCBE), I saw myself hungry for learning, which allowed me to better understand the public educational system.  My lack of experience allowed me to be reflective, thoughtful and strategic in dealing with issues that needed MCBE action. I along with my fellow Board members are focused on the children. I love being a part of that engagement.

I want to pass on to the next generation of students that honesty and integrity, hard work, positive human interactions and education help build successful human beings with solid personal values.  Our world is constantly changing, and we need to adapt but if we have strong grit, we can adapt and not lose our human identity.

I love what I do at MCBE.  I want to do more so I am asking for your support.  Vote for me and I promise that your children will remain my focus.

Thank you.
